Shia LaBeouf Arrested In Texas For Public Intoxication

Actor Shia LaBeouf from such films as 2003’s Holes and in more recent times, the Transformers movies, is in trouble again with the law after having been arrested outside of a bar in Austin, Texas on Friday.

According to TMZ, who first reported on the arrest, witnesses claim he was “blitzed” and “out of control” when he was arrested by the police.

After his arrest, which took place outside of a bar on 6th Street at around 7:45 PM (CT), Shia was transported by the authorities to Travis County Jail where he was booked on the misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.

Shia, who completed 6 months of outpatient alcohol rehab back in 2004, once said that he “got to grow up in a situation where drugs were demonic,” as his father was, according to him, a heroin addict.

I got to grow up in a situation where drugs were demonic. To watch your dad go through heroin withdrawal is something that would keep you from doing any of that yourself.

But as for his own demons, he previously stated that he’s been “running” from himself his whole life, whether it be to the silver screen or “drinking and drugging,” he’s “always been running.”

I’ve been a runner my whole life, running from myself. Whether to movies or drinking and drugging or (expletive) calamity or whatever it is, I’ve always been running.

As for his Friday night arrest, LaBeouf was reportedly arrested for, in a bizarre act of defiance, running down the street and jaywalking in front of the police after having been warned not to.

Jaywalking, for those who don’t know, entails the unlawful crossing of a street or road, but also applies to crossings in which the lawbreaker exhibits no regard for approaching traffic.

While one witness tells TMZ that the Transformers actor was either “high on drugs” or “extremely drunk” when he was arrested, Immortal News wants to know what our readers think. Let us know in the comments section below whether you think Shia was drunk, high or just “acting” out.
