Gavin Rossdale Reportedly ‘Suspicious’ Over Gwen Stefani And Blake Shelton’s Relationship Timeline

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have gone public with their relationship, but Stefani’s ex-husband Gavin Rossdale is not buying the timeline that the new couple has been sharing.  Shelton and Stefani got together right after both had gotten a divorce, leading Rossdale to wonder if the two judges of The Voice had become more than friends while they were still married to their respective partners.

The country star Shelton, 39, divorced his wife of four years, Miranda Lambert, 31, on July 20.  Stefani split from Rossdale less than a month later.  Rossdale, 50, believes the two kept their affair a secret because Stefani, the former No Doubt singer, was worried that if he knew that she had cheated he would fight for more money in the divorce, a source claims.

Rossdale believes that Stefani was trying to make him out to be the bad guy, yet all along she had actually been cheating on him.  He suspects that she was using lies about his actions as a cover for her affair.  He states that he is not only angry about her relationship with Shelton, but he is also annoyed because Stefani had previously called him a ‘control freak’, even though she demanded that he not go on tour out of paranoia that he would cheat on her.

Sources at TMZ claim that Rossdale says Stefani browbeat him into staying home, which greatly affected his ability to make money.  “She just didn’t let him work.”

He is annoyed that she recorded a “woe is me” song, “Used to Love You,” with lyrics such as, “Nobody taught you how to love.”

Stefani is still standing by her story that Rossdale is the one who was cheating.

Everybody knows that my life blew up last February. I’d just been dealing with that. Unexpected. I was going along thinking that was going to be the rest of my life and it’s not. I don’t know what happened.

Stefani and Rossdale share three sons – Kingston, nine;  Zuma, seven; and Apollo, 20 months.   She admitted that making music during this turbulent period in her life proved to be cathartic.

“I just knew that I needed to write. Even the first day that I went into the studio, I didn’t want to get out of bed.”
