Jackie Chan’s Son Indicted On Drug Charges By China

Jackie Chan’s son, Jaycee Chan who is 32-years-old has been indicted in China on drug charges. According to a report by the Daily Mail on Dec. 22, the young singer and actor has been held in a China detention center since August and will remain there until he is convicted and possibly sent to prison for up to three years. This is an embarrassment for his father, Jackie Chan since he has been named as an anti-drug ambassador by Beijing since 2009. He has even apologized on his son’s behalf saying:

Regarding the issue with my son Jaycee, I feel very angry and very shocked. As a public figure, I’m very ashamed. As a father, I’m heartbroken.

According to UPI, Jaycee Chan has been charged for possession of marijuana and he tested positive for having it in his system. According to the report, Jaycee has been accused of ‘sheltering others to use drugs.’

Jaycee wasn’t the only one arrested on these drug charges. His friend, Kai Ko Cheng-tung was arrested right along with him after 100 grams of marijuana was found at the home they were in. However, the friend, Kai Ko, only served 14 days in the detention center and has since been released.

Jaycee Chan’s arrest comes only two years after China announced their zero tolerance policy on illegal substances. Although he has been arrested and charged, his trial date has not been set yet.

Jaycee Chan has been in several films and has made and released three albums.
