Rosie O’Donnell is leaving “The View” after she and her wife, Michelle Rounds, separated in November. She cited health concerns as she told reporters Saturday at the Athena Film Festival awards ceremony that her doctors were concerned with stress derived from the show causing strain on her heart.

Rosie suffered what she called a “widow maker” heart attack back in 2012 and although her Google search for “women’s heart attack symptoms” confirmed her suspicions, she simply took an aspirin, WebMD reported.

The 52-year-old television personality, comedian, actress, and author was born Roseann O’Donnell in Commack, New York on March 21, 1962. She was married to Kelli Carpenter in 2004 until their divorce in 2007. Her and Michelle were wed on 2012 and split back in 2014.

Rosie’s page on Wikipedia indicated that the LGBT rights activist has five children.

Hollywood Reporter quoted O’Donnell as having said that her health “got a little bit worse right before the holidays” and her doctor “was kind of concerned.” She went on to say that she “can’t really fix” her personal life right now, but she can fix her job, so she spoke to ABC and they understood.

So I spoke to them at ABC, and I told them, and they understood […] They’ve been unbelievably supportive and loving.

Rosie will leave “The View” next week to focus on her family, ABC News confirmed in a report which quoted the talk show host’s personal publicist, Cindi Berger Berger told the New York Post’s Page Six that she “can confirm” the November split and ABC has been “supportive of her personal decision to leave” the show.

Rounds and O’Donnell adopted a baby daughter together back in 2013.

What do you think of Rosie’s decision to leave “The View” to focus on her family?
