One Of The World’s Greatest Unsolved Mysteries Solved

So, one of our most pressing questions has finally been answered by science. The question: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? The answer is, 2,500. Apparently, mathematicians at New York University decided to find out and they did.

According to The Week on Feb. 11, a graduate student at New York University by the name of Jinzi Mac Huang, determined that although it takes 1,000 licks to get halfway through to the center of a Tootsie Pop, it actually takes a whole 2,500 licks to get all the way through the the end of the Tootsie Roll in the center.

When most people are eating a Tootsie Pop, they tend to crunch down through to the center to get to the Tootsie Roll instead of licking all the way through. It would take a long time to actually lick the lollipop that many times just to get through to the Tootsie Roll in the center of it. After all, we are only human and we just bite down on the whole thing and eat it up right away.

According to Time, researchers and scientists were trying to figure out how flowing liquid dissolves materials. So, the research done to answer this age-old question we have all been dying to know the answer to was not done for fun or for nothing as they did have a reason to do the experiment.

Now we know the answer to this question but what about some other questions we have been asking for a long time now? For example, what really happened to Amelia Earhart’s plane? What do you think about this experiment? Are you going to try to lick all the way through to the center of the Tootsie Pop now? Do you think that would take way too long? Sound off with what you think about this question finally being answered and let everyone know what you think about it.
