American actress and singer-songwriter Zooey Deschanel and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, have finally decided to announce the name of their baby daughter.
The couple told People Magazine last Wednesday at the New York City premiere of Rock the Kasbah that their now 3-month-old daughter’s name is Elsie Otter.
Deschanel was quoted by People as having said during the premiere that her baby girl’s name is Elsie Otter, “like the animal” — the “sea otter,” her husband chimed in.
With the news already out, the Yes Man co-star told Today on Tuesday morning that she and her husband “just really liked the name Elsie and then we both love otters” because they’re sweet, smart, use tools, hold hands and are just “wonderful animals.”

Pop Sugar reports that Zooey hit the red carpet at the premiere of her new film wearing a fitted black dress and that her husband was not with her while she walked the carpet, however, she tweeted a photo of the two of them sitting with one another inside of the theater with the caption, “At the rock the kasbah premiere!!!”
The couple’s baby was born in Austin, Texas back in late July.
Their marriage as well as the birth of their first daughter together were both announced back in August.
Zooey, who has starred in such films as Your Highness and Our Idiot Brother, not only stars in, but produces her own television series, New Girl.
