Hershey’s Kisses Deluxe: Twice The Size With Hazelnut Centers

Chocolate Swirl

There’s a new chocolate covered confection coming out of the chocolatiers at Hershey’s that’s something of a Hershey’s Kiss, only with a hazelnut center and twice the size, USA Today reports.

The new chocolate covered hazelnuts, which are also flecked with rice crisps, are expected to hit store shelves across the nation by November 5, 2015.

Executives at the candy company told USA Today that the new product, Hershey’s Kisses Deluxe, is the biggest innovation that the company has seen since it introduced its Kisses with Almonds all so many years ago.

Hershey’s new super-sized Kisses are scheduled to be sold through Valentines Day at a retail cost of $1 for a package of three or four for $1.29 — not to mention the larger gift boxes that will be available.

Fortune reports that the Hershey company saw over $7.4 billion in sales last year.

Adam Borden, senior associate manager for Hershey’s Kisses, stressed the company’s less than quick resolve to innovate when it comes to its products as he told USA Today that it took them “55 years just to change the color of the foil,” and then “another 38 years to put something inside the milk chocolate.”

It took 55 years just to change the color of the foil (…) Then it took another 38 years to put something inside the milk chocolate. We’re getting better, but it does take us a little while to tinker with something that is iconic as a brand Milton Hershey founded himself.

In other possibly delicious news for foodies, Taco Bell and Cap’n Crunch have joined forces to create rainbow-colored, deep-fried, cereal crumb sprinkled, milk icing filled donut holes.
