Baby Hitler, Would Jeb Bush Kill Him? ‘Hell Yeah’

Jeb Bush

When asked by the Huffington Post if he would go back in time and kill baby Adolf Hitler if he could, Jeb Bush was quick to respond. “Hell yeah, I would!  You gotta step up, man.”

The New York Times posed the question in a poll – if you could go back in time and kill baby Hitler, would you do it? – and the majority of people responded that yes, they would. Forty-two percent of respondents said that they would kill off the fetal fuhrer, while 30 percent said no. Twenty-eight percent of those polled said that they were not sure. The results of said poll were posted on Twitter.

Hell yeah, I would!  You gotta step up, man.

Bush was directly asked this question by someone via email, but he did not respond until he was asked on camera by HuffPost while on the campaign trail in New HampshireHuffPost asked him what one of the most amusing questions he had been asked was while he was relaxing on his tour bus. “I gotta figure out which ones are not x-rated. That’s the only problem,” he joked before being asked the question about Hitler. He remarked that one has to be careful going back in time, like in the Back to the Future series. He said that killing the infant version of the fascist dictator would perhaps set unknown consequences into motion.

It could have a dangerous effect on everything else, but I’d do it — I mean, Hitler.

He said that he understands that killing off the former dictator while in his crib might not, in fact, stop World War II from happening, but that it is at least worth trying.

When asked a similar question, Ben Carson said he would not abort baby Hitler. “I’m not in favor of aborting anybody,” the retired neurosurgeon said Tuesday night. The question posed to Bush was not about abortion. Had the wording been different, he may not have had the same response.
