‘Zoolander 2’ Trailer Pulls In Records Views

The official movie trailer for the upcoming comedy Zoolander 2 has set a record for the number of views it has garnished since its release.

The trailer, which debut on November 18, has already managed to rack up more than 13.8 million views on YouTube where it was uploaded by Paramount Pictures — quite a few more hits than Adam Sandler’s new Chanukah song managed to rake in on the popular video sharing service since its November 25 release.

The new Zoolander 2 trailer, according to Deadline, has pulled in more views than any other comedy trailer in history and all within less than two weeks.

As far as it’s first week trailer views, it reeled in more than Anchorman 2, the third Hangover movie and even 22 Jump Street.

Zoolander 2, the sequel to the hit comedy Zoolander, brings back Owen Wilson as male model Hansel, Will Ferrel as evil fashion mogul Mugatu, Christine Taylor as investigative journalist Matilda, and of course, Ben Stiller as the world’s best male model, Derek Zoolander. The aforementioned original cast members are joined by Penelope Cruz, Justin Bieber, Kristen Wiig, Miley Cyrus, and Billy Zane – who was also in the original.

With 49 million views in just one week, Dumb and Dumber To previously held the title of most viewed comedy trailer.

The new Zoolander flick, which is scheduled to hit theaters on February 12, was written by Stiller, Justin Theroux, John Hamburg and Nick Stoller. It’s being produced by Stiller, Scott Rudin, Clayton Townsend and Stuart Cornfeld with Jeff Mann as the executive producer.

While the film is not yet rated, the new Star Wars film is, as it recently received an official rating of PG-13.
