Director Bryan Singer, who directed X-Men: Days of Future Past, is back in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and while the film won’t debut in theaters until the end of May 2016, 20th Century Fox has unveiled the official trailer and for X-Men fans, it’s certainly worth a watch.

In the new trailer, which Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation published on their YouTube channel, the very first mutant from the X-Men universe, Apocalypse, makes his debut appearance on the silver screen.

After awakening from a slumber spanning the course of thousands of years, the immortal and invincible Apocalypse gathers a crew of mutants including the likes of Magneto–played by Michael Fassbender–to “cleanse” mankind from the planet and establish himself ruler of the new world order.

An obviously shaken Professor X, played by James McAvoy, can be heard right around the 2:07 marker saying that he’s “never heard power like this before.”

I’ve never heard power like this before.

In order to stop the world’s first mutant, who was worshiped as a god since the dawn of civilization, Professor Charles Francis Xavier leads his team of young X-Men up against the immortal Apocalypse and his mutant cronies.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters across the U.S. on May 27, 2016.

The cast includes Jennifer Lawrence as Raven, Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse and a slew of other actors including Ben Hardy, Evan Peters, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Nicholas Hoult and more.

In other news, the Zoolander 2 trailer was recently released and within a matter of weeks, it set a record for the most views of any comedy trailer in history.
