Christmas Theater Shooting Leaves 4 Injured In Alabama

Authorities are on the hunt for two suspected gunmen who opened fire Christmas night at a movie theater in Mobile, Alabama.

According to local law enforcement, two male suspects are believed to have been behind the shooting which resulted in four people being shot — all of whom were transported to a local hospital with what WALA reports to be non life threatening injuries.

The shooting took place at Carmike’s Wynnsong Cinemas at around 10:14 p.m., according to police.

Victims include two 14-year-olds, one male and one female, as well as two 18-year-olds.

One of the 18-year-old victims was shot in the hip, abdomen and thigh while the other 18-year-old was shot in just the abdomen.

As for the two juvenile victims, both sustained gunshot wounds to the leg in the violent incident — the motive behind which authorities are still investigating.

The two suspects believed to be behind the late night shooting on Christmas, both of whom fled on foot following the incident, are believed to be male juveniles – though authorities are unsure of their assessment of the culprits at this time. Only one of the juvenile suspects is believed to have opened fire on the four victims.

According to witnesses, the shooting took place after an argument broke out. As the argument unfolded, shots suddenly rang out across the parking lot, WKRG reported.

Presently, neither suspect is in custody and the authorities are imploring anyone who might have any information on the incident to call the Mobile Police Department at 251-208-7211 or to reach out to the authorities through Crimestoppers at 251-208-7000.
