Drunk Doctor Attacks Uber Driver And Gets Placed On Leave After Video Goes Viral

A young doctor in Miami has been placed on administrative leave and is reportedly at risk of losing her job as a Jackson Health System neurologist following what appears to have been a drunken incident captured on video in which she attacked an Uber driver that refused to give her a ride.

Witnesses claim that the fourth-year neurology resident — who was identified by the Miami medical center at which she works as Dr. Anjali Ramkissoon — was attempting to hijack someone else’s fare when she was refused a ride, the NY Daily News reported.

Video of the incident was uploaded to YouTube by user “Juan Cinco” on January 19, 2016. Within days of its release, it had racked up over 1.4 million views on the popular video sharing service.

The video’s uploader indicated in its description that the woman, later identified as Dr. Kamkissoon, suddenly jumped into the car while they were on the phone with its driver and then refused to get out.

We were on the phone with this uber driver while he pulled up to our location. Out of nowhere the girl in the video gets in the backseat of his car and won’t get out. We told the driver it was ok, to just cancel our ride, but he did not want to take her anywhere so he kept telling her to get out.

According to the video’s description, the camera started rolling after the woman snatched the driver’s keys out of the front seat of his car and started to walk off.

Eventually the driver gets out and says he’s calling the cops to get her out of the car. After a couple of minutes of the driver pretending to talk to the cops (im assuming he was pretending because they never showed up at first), the girl decides to reach into the front seat, grab his keys, and start walking away with his keys in her hands…. That’s where the video starts…

Eventually, the police showed up at the scene of the incident and arrested the woman who, according to the video’s description, began “crying, apologizing, and claiming that she would lose her medical license” if she was arrested.

Once in handcuffs, she then tried kicking some of the police officers on the scene. It was only when they put her in the police car that she started crying, apologizing, and claiming that she would lose her medical license (she claimed to be a neurologist) if she got arrested.

In the video, the woman can be heard berating the driver and at one point, even attacking him as she attempts to knee him in the groin and take a swing at his head.

A spokeswoman with the Miami Police Department, Frederica Burden, was quoted by the Miami Herald as having said that the department was “called for a disturbance,” but “no report” was filed so there won’t be an investigation.

We were called for a disturbance […] There was no report written, and there will be no investigation.

According to the uploader of the video, the unidentified driver accepted a cash settlement from the woman and did not press charges against her.
