Emmy award winning actress Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon renewed their wedding vows this Valentine’s Day, 12 years after they were first married in 2003. The 50-year-old How to Get Away with Murder star Davis shared a photo of the couple dressed in their wedding finery on Instagram with the following caption: ‘”We are most alive when we’re in love.”
According to Page Six, Davis was dressed in a custom made Carmen Marc Valvo dress on her special day. The actress shared how happy she was to be marrying her 62-year-old husband again during her toast that evening, saying she felt really ‘alive’:
I really feel alive. If I had to look back on my life, this is the moment that would play out.
In 2011 the couple adopted a baby girl and named her Genesis. Now 4-years-old, Genesis was present at the couple’s wedding and was the flower girl. Davis, who used Instagram to share a few details of the wedding posted a photo of her daughter wearing a pink tutu, with the caption: “Mommy and Daddy are getting married again today!!!!!!!YAY!!!!”
She also showed fans a photo of her wedding invite, saying: “Beautiful invites, @linenandlacedesigns, thank you! We can’t wait to dance the night away! #renewingvows #valentines #happy ❤”
Today reported that Davis’s ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ co-stars Karla Souza and Matt McGory also attended the wedding. Everyone present was dressed in white, which seemed to be the dress code for the night.
“Raising our glasses for @violadavis in a moment ????❤️ #marriage” tweeted Karla Souza, while Jack Falahee shared a photo of himself holding large white roses with the caption: “@mattmcgorry and I got you these. Hope you like them.”
