Elle King Engaged: Ex’s & Oh’s Singer Says Yes

Elle King, who seemingly came out of nowhere with her hit song “Ex’s & Oh’s,” got engaged to her Scottish boyfriend Fergie in San Francisco on February 6, 2016.

King shared a number of posts from the day on her Instagram, one of which read: “Fergie asked me to marry him on a sailboat under the Golden Gate Bridge. I said yes.”

Her boyfriend shared the news as well, sharing a photo of the two on his Instagram. His caption was similar to King’s and read:  “I asked this girl to marry me underneath the golden great bridge. Guess what? She said yes.”

According to a report from US Weekly, King spoke about her engagement at the Rolling Stone Super Bowl party, where a source said the singer jokingly mentioned that her mother may be mad that she hadn’t called her yet to tell her the news. The source allegedly said, “She said she hopes that her mom won’t get mad at her for not calling to tell her about it yet.”

King has famous parents, her father is Rob Schneider from Saturday Night Live and her mother London King is a former model and actress. King’s mother made first appeared in the 1999 movie Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and later turned to the music industry. King took her mother’s last name.

King was nominated for two Grammy Awards, Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song (for Ex’s & Oh’s), both of which were recently were won by Alabama Shakes.

Speaking to E News about her Grammy nomination, King said she dreamt of getting nominated as a little kid, and called the experience “crazy” and “an honor”.

It’s so crazy. I can’t even—I’m always so chatty, and I can’t even find my words. I don’t know what to do with myself,” she told Billboard when reacting to her nominations. “I’m just like, I don’t know, it’s insane! Who would have ever thought this? You dream about it when you’re a little kid, but I never thought that this would ever happen in a million years. I don’t know. It’s so crazy. It’s an honor.
