There are many actors who go from acting to music or even do both. They don’t stop there either because many of them can do it all these days, it seems. However, according to a report by News National Post on Jan. 22, Johnny Depp says it ‘makes him sick’ when other actors go into music. It seems that he thinks that those actors who do go into music are just using their fame to get into the music scene. He thinks actors should stick to just acting.
Although Depp thinks this way, he has been no stranger to the music scene himself throughout his acting career. In fact, Depp has rocked out with the best of them including Marylyn Manson, Aerosmith, Willie Nelson and many others. However, here is what he had to say about using fame to get into the music business:
The kind of luxury now is, anybody with a certain amount of success, if you have a kind of musical being, you can go out and start a band and capitalize on your work in other areas. But I hate the idea, ‘Come see me play the guitar because you’ve seen me in 12 movies’. It shouldn’t be [that way]. You want the people who are listening to the music to only be interested in the music.
According to The New York Daily News, coincidentally, Depp’s co-star in the new movie, Mortdecai, is Gwyneth Paltrow and we all know she has sang her heart out in many television shows and movies.
