Michael Clifford’s Hair Caught On Fire During London Concert

Michael Clifford from the Australian pop band 5 Seconds of Summer was injured by pyrotechnics during a concert in London on Saturday.

As a result of the accident, Clifford reportedly suffered burns to the head and the band cut short the encore. The guitarist took to Twitter to apologize to fans while joking that at least he now looks like supervillain Harvey “Two-Face” Dent the DC Comics comic book character who was often cast as Batman’s adversary.

Following the incident, Clifford’s band mate Ashton Irwin broke the news to screaming fans as he said, “Michael has hurt himself so we will not be continuing the show right now,” but he’s “okay.”

The band was performing at London’s Wembley Arena when the accident occurred. It appeared as if the guitarist accidentally walked into a pyrotechnic display while it was shooting flames, causing his head and hair to briefly catch on fire.

As a result of the fireworks stunt gone awry, Mike had a trip to the hospital and the band has since cut short the second of their three nights at the Wembley Arena.

The accident occurred while the Australian group was performing its hit song “She Looks So Perfect.”

In other music coverage here at Immortal News, Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Bob Burns died in a car crash, Randy Howard was killed in a shootout with a bounty hunter at his home in Tennessee, and Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl broke his leg after he accidentally fell off stage.

What are your thoughts on Michael Clifford’s seemingly lighthearted public response to the unfortunate incident?
